Our Future Building
Update! On July 13, 2021, the Bentonville City Council approved the construction agreement with CR Crawford for our new building! While we still have to work out some minor details, this puts us one step closer to opening the shelter! For more information about the agreement, you can view the City Council agenda.
The Bentonville Animal Services Building will be located at the corner of SW I Street and SW 41st Street, across from the Bentonville Community Center.
In addition to housing dogs and cats, the facility will be a one-stop shop for all things pet-related. Citizens will be able to adopt a new family member, obtain pet licenses, get more information on responsible pet ownership and volunteer their time.

What We Do
Bentonville's Animal Services Officers take pride in enforcing, promoting, and protecting public safety. They also enforce and promote responsible pet ownership, safe human-animal interactions, and other related duties that apply. Chapter 6, Animals, of the Bentonville Code of Ordinances can be found here.
If your pet wears a current license or I.D. tag or has a microchip, we will make every effort possible to notify you and reunite you with your lost pet. If your pet was not wearing a tag it's very possible that he/she could have been taken in.
All dogs recovered within the city limits of Bentonville are received and housed at The City of Centerton Animal Shelter. Bentonville pet owners can now reunite with their displaced dogs at the remodeled shelter located at 10404 N. Highway 279 in Centerton or visit them online here.
